Last week I attended a food tasting at Sommelier's Roast in Raleigh. -A new coffee & tea shop that carries not only excellent coffee & tea, but also light faire that is, well, not ordinary. Plus, this place is different. Although it’s casual, it’s not a hipster type spot, instead it’s got more of a sophisticated feel. Add to it that it’s a family owned business, and I’m even happier to tell you about it.

This past weekend I headed to downtown Raleigh for the soft opening of 42 & Lawrence. I've been eagerly awaiting this ever since I heard about it from one of the employees at Larry's Coffee a few months ago. So I kept an eye out on the storefront of 42 & Lawrence, and it felt like forever that the windows were taped up with paper and no actual opening date was advertised. All I knew is that it would be sometime this summer.
At last the time arrived and I darted on down to check it out.

Yesterday I attended a media event at the newly opened Grounds Cafe which is inside the new Wendell Falls development. You can't miss seeing the big beautiful barn while driving on Wendell Falls Parkway, plus all the nearby beautiful new homes and ample land that's still available for more new homes to be built on.
