Just a few short months ago I attended the TEDxRaleigh event downtown, where I heard about a dozen speakers give inspiring talks. Theme was Wonderlust. All the speakers had something of value to contribute, but 2 speakers who stood out to me were Jason Goldberg and Doug Stewart.
Jason's talk was about imagination, enthusiasm and fascination. Doug's talk was about the importance of mentorship and about taking responsibility of our own lives.
Fast-forward a few months to today, and the 2 have joined forces to offer the best of their talents in a collaborative event called Creativity On Demand.
First, a little background.
Jason is a international coach and motivational speaker as well as author of the recently released book; Prison Break. It's currently the #1 best seller in leadership and motivation books.
Doug is also a speaker and coach as well as a certified Dale Carnegie instructor. Coincidentally, one of my friends recently had him as an instructor in the Dale Carnegie class provided to her by her employer. She had good things to say about the class and Doug's training/coaching ability.
Isn't it nice when you think positively of something or someone, and then a friend offers added confirmation? Then it's even better!
Creativity On Demand is a 1 day full immersion fun session exploring the ways we are and can be creative, and also how to tap into that creativity "on demand", going forward. Ultimately, the goal is to help participants get into a "flow" state, with less worrying that we often do in over-thinking things and with less stress. The session is intended to propel participants towards forward-thinking and innovative perspectives.
This isn't strictly for creatives in terms of occupation. This is geared towards anyone who feels a somewhat stagnant or in a bit of a rut, generally speaking. I think most of us feel that way at times. Sometimes those times can go on for a very long while. The Creativity On Demand session intends to remind participants that everyone is creative, and that by tapping into our creativity and getting rid of the clutter we have, or think we have in our lives, we become "Creators" with a capital "C", of our lives.
