Roundabout Art Collective

Roundabout Art Collective, in Raleigh, NC has some really beautiful art work by very talented artists. I need to add this place to my First Friday gallery stops. I popped in during my lunch break and was given a very informative tour by one of the artists on site, Dan Dye.

John Pagliuca - Beautiful photography from his trip to Tuscany & Florence. Such a great eye!

A couple of years ago I took a free class John was teaching about iPhone photography. No pretense just the facts jack. It was a great class.

Nathan Hoffman - Encaustic piece. Which as I understand it is like a wax. It's really stunning to look at in person. Reminded me of some kind of ocean plant.

Susan Dahlin - Love the rich & bold colors she paints with. She doesn't use a paintbrush. Do you know what she uses instead?

Jack Williams - You can't see it well in this pic but there is a good amount of texture in both of these pieces. Does it surprise you that this artist studied design & medicine? It surprised me.

Susan Woodson - If you're wondering if this is the same Susan Woodson as the wife of NCSU's Chancellor, then you're correct. Talented lady wouldn't you say? I just love the bird! No wait the flowers in purple background. No.... The bird. Oh never mind, I can't decide.

Abie Harris - Another NCSU connection... Well kind of. Abie graduated from the Design School at NCSU, co-founded an architecture firm & worked at NCSU for over 30 yrs planning the main campus & centennial campus.

Chandelier in the restroom. Or the bordello-esque room as Dan jokingly referred to it as. OK, so not an official art piece but nice to look at.

Dan Dye - the amazingly informative and friendly artist and accidental tour guide who took me through the whole place to tell me about each artist & their works. Dan is a designer, metalsmith & jeweler. He gets his stones from a special source out west. Those colors are even more beautiful in person, as is the entire piece.
