42 & Lawrence

This past weekend I headed to downtown Raleigh for the soft opening of 42 & Lawrence. I've been eagerly awaiting this ever since I heard about it from one of the employees at Larry's Coffee a few months ago. So I kept an eye out on the storefront of 42 & Lawrence, and it felt like forever that the windows were taped up with paper and no actual opening date was advertised. All I knew is that it would be sometime this summer.

At last the time arrived and I darted on down to check it out.

42 & Lawrence is brought to you by the folks at Larry's Coffee. They will feature Larry's Coffee (duh), and treats by lucettegrace and Boulted Bread. I am beyond excited about this combination! I loooooove all 3.

So besides all this, they will also feature a juice rail. Organic juice that you can even specify a combination of different juices for your own customized drink.

As for the items I got to taste while I was there... Let me start with the Draft Latte. It was amazing! I don't say amazing unless I mean AMAZING! A cold coffee beverage that is light, creamy and delicious. I can't believe I didn't get another one to-go!

I also sampled their Cortada with a piece of chocolate. They were excellent separately & together. Why stop there right? Additionally, I sampled the Kombucha which I've posted about in the past on my socials... It is locally made by Tribucha Co. and it was delicious too. If you know as little as I do about Kombucha, beside it tasting good, it is actually good for you. (Not comperable to mass-produced stuff you find at grocery stores IMHO).

So on my way out I was tempted by the Seltzer Elixer I saw listed on the menu. So, I got that to-go. It was perfect for the hot & humid day.

Quality of eveything was excellent and they didn't skimp on the decor either. I would describe it as a high-end Italian looking cafe, with beautiful counters, applicances, tables, stools and of course the drinks. Let me not forget the most eye catching thing upon first walking in. That ceiling over the bar area and the lights. I was "bowled" over by the Bowler hats which are actual felt hats made into light shades. Creative & gorgeous!

Grand opening is tomorrow, July, 6, 7am-7pm.

I just might need to be there at 7:01am for my Draft Latte. ;)
