Pizzeria Faulisi Does a Cocktail GOOD. Oh, and Pizza Too!

Pizzeria Faulisi in Cary, has quickly become one of my favorite pizza places.

On this visit, in addition to the pizza, I tried a cocktail too. The Sicilian Sour. Boy did that take me by surprise. It was easily one of the best cocktails I've had in a while. Tart yet smooth and packed a punch, and well, that pretty much made my night. But wait, there's still the pizza to eat!

A whole 90 seconds in their super fast-cooking, wood-burning oven, and my pizza landed in front of me. I went with the Margarita pizza this time. Pretty much the basics: dough, sauce & cheese, oh, and that plentiful basil. This tasted as delicious as it gets, in my opinion. High quality ingredients is where it's at. Hard to mess up, especially when the cooking process is so simple and brief.

Pizzeria Faulisi has created their own dough which is delicious. They combine Italian flour (Caputo), with North Carolina flour (from Boulted Bread, in Raleigh). Gawd I love Boulted Bread but that will have to be another post for another day.

Close-up. ;)

Know what else besides the cocktail took me by surprise? The restroom. Bright colors and big designs all over the walls and ceiling. Right up my alley. The art portion of the evening!

To wrap this up I want to add how super clean this place is. The restaurant and restroom. I mention this because it almost felt like someone's home to me.

Lots of restaurants are for the most part clean, but at Pizzeria Faulisi everything is spotless to the point that I took notice. Know what I mean? For instance... the tables, chairs & floors were immaculate. Behind the counter where food and drinks get prepared was equally clean.

Although I'm listing service last, it's typically what I notice first and I consider it very important. This I presume is probably the hardest thing for restaurants to be consistent about, but it can make or break the whole evening. As you might guess by now, I found the service to be excellent. Knowlegable, polite & attentive. Sounds simple but it's a lot, especially since there are always multiple customers to juggle at the same time. Mangia!!!
