Halloween House - Oakwood Neighborhood

Pic taken in 2015

This is an annual tradition for many. Certainly for the homeowner, Mr. Jones, who adores this time of year, and puts his heart & soul into decorating the exterior of his home as well as his yard with festive, fun, & spooky Halloween decorations. Masses of people turn up from around the area for this family-friendly event.

Go see the Oakwood Halloween House at:

504 Oakwood Ave., Raleigh. NC

Mr. Jones & a team of volunteers start decorating a month before Halloween. It’s fun to stop by during those early days to check out the progress. Some of the volunteers also get into the costumes, to give more of a convincing experience to the viewers.

If you go the night of Halloween, it will likely be packed with people. That’s how it was when I last went on Halloween night. Large groups of people spilling off the sidewalks and into the streets. It's a fun time but not all may appreciate it.

I’d recommend stopping by on day prior to 10/31. Stopping by during daylight is fun too, as you get to see all the decorations clearly. There are sooooo many!

Don’t forget to wear a costume! In pic below the monster next to me is one of the volunteers. Such a friendly monster. :)
